We are hoping you marked your calendars for the announcement of the 2024 Bookkeeper Event, set to take place from October 10th to 12th of next year.
Adelaide was chosen to host us, assured to offer something a little different for our time away. Adelaide is known for its cultural delights, vibrant arts scene, and picturesque parks.
Australian Bookkeepers Network (ABN) Director, Peter Thorp, explains that Adelaide has plenty in store for the trip.
“Adelaide is also the gateway to some of Australia’s finest wineries and experiences just outside its city limits,” said Peter.
“We were so taken by Adelaide that we just had to say yes as the destination for Conference 2024”.
"We're not just bringing our members an event; we're bringing them an experience,” continued Peter. “When ABN’s Co-Director, Kelvin Deer, and I went down to scout the conference we had a great time in little bars and there were plenty of places to explore. It’s the perfect spot.”
Here we share some of highlights to explore when you join us in Adelaide:
At one of the largest fresh produce markets in Australia, you are well positioned to immerse yourself in a culinary journey. It’s also just around the corner from where we’re staying at the Hilton. Perfect!
There are fine food traders, live music and often visits from well-known foodies demonstrating their cooking skills on the market stage.
Enjoy the beauty of the tranquil Adelaide Botanic Gardens, the green oasis in the heart of the city. Enjoy a stroll around the 50 hectares, stopping now and again to read more about the history of Adelaide and its flora on signposts along the way.
Art Gallery of South Australia
Built in 1900, the sandstone walls and columns of the Gallery loom tall among a boulevard of historic and cultural institutions along North Terrace in the city. It stands on the lands of the Kaurna people, in a traditional camping and meeting area known as Tarntanya (‘red kangaroo place’).
This is one of Australia’s finest art galleries where you’ll enjoy exploring a rich collection of Australian, European, and Asian art.
The Luxury Hilton Experience
If you’re interested in a luxury experience, you’ll be happy to know we’re hosting the conference at Hilton Adelaide.
It’s the perfect setting. It’s close to the centre of the city with its very cool bars and great shopping. It’s also next door to Adelaide’s Central Market, a foodie favourite.
Experiencing Culinary Delights
But wait there’s more. We wanted to treat you to a feast that tributes the beautiful farm produce from the area. So we have organised our Thursday evening “Taste of Adelaide” function. There are some surprises in store for the platters, so stay tuned for more.
"This is a really good way to combine some professional growth with discovering an exciting new place,” said Peter. “We look forward to welcoming you to a memorable experience at the Australian Bookkeeper Event 2024."
Keep an eye out for tickets.
Tickets are set to be available soon, so stay tuned with the monthly ABN Bookkeeper’s Radio.
