As the payroll industry navigates this technological transformation, the focus must remain on leveraging AI to augment the human element of payroll, ensuring a balance between technological efficiency and the personal touch that is fundamental to effective payroll management.

AI, or rather GenAI has had the biggest impact by ways of helping colleagues at AustralianSuper to: 1. Summarise large volumes of information, i.e. large documents, email chains, etc., 2. Generating content, i.e. drafting emails, creating PPT slide decks, etc., 3. Summarise Teams meetings and providing meeting minutes. We've been using Microsoft CoPilot and BingChat to help with the above and we're continuously learning and collaborating with each other to share helpful prompts so we can all learn and experience the benefits of AI together.

We've also used AI in our products to assist with our clients' processes (e.g. extracting data from documents and allocating account codes and other meta data). We have used out of the box AI solutions, as well as built our own modelling around AI solutions. |

This still requires a review but the beauty of having a prewritten script allows you to focus more on the bigger picture of the messages you’re trying to get across and tweak the AI prompt until the messaging resembles a close idea of what I would be trying to communicate, instead of spending energy writing out the whole script and then getting into the above which allows me to maximise its impact.
