Tax Help for Bushfire Victims
If you or your clients have been affected by the January 2013 bushfires that have ravaged parts of Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania, Tax Office relief is at hand.
For affected parties residing within these postcodes, the Tax Office will automatically defer the due date for monthly Activity Statements for December 2012 and for January & February 2013 until 28 April 2013. The due date for the December 2012 quarterly Activity Statement will also be deferred to this date.
If you or your bushfire-affected clients have other lodgement or payment obligations in the coming weeks and need additional assistance, ring the ATO on 13 72 86 (fast key code 5) before the due dates.
For more information on the assistance available, visit the ATO website.
