ATO BAS Service Providers Portal

The ATO BAS Service Providers Portal assists bookkeepers who provide BAS services for a fee. The BAS Service Providers Portal provides “eligible users” access to:

prepare and lodge activity statements
view and revise previously lodged activity statements
add or delete clients from a client directory
view client activity statement registration profiles
view payment options including download BAS payment forms, and
communicate with the Tax Office using portal mail.

An “eligible user” is a BAS Agent pursuant to the Tax agent Services Act 2009 or Tax Agent Services (Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Act 2009.

Importantly, the Portal also provides bookkeepers with a vital two-week extension when lodging most quarterly BASs (Terms and Conditions apply).

Bookkeepers granted access to the Portal will also benefit from an improved ATO telephony service on 1300 650 129 where a BSP specific menu provides access to portal help and general information. This service joins a suite of products developed especially for BSPs, including a free email newsletter – The BAS service provider – and a BSP advisory visit program.
